Wildflower Sale
Wildflower Sale
The Churchville Nature Center is holding their annual Wildflower Sale the first two weekends of May (April 30/May 1 and May 7/8). We normally help out on the two Sundays, but we can sign you up for any of the four days of the sale. Our duties are cashiers, counters, membership table, attendants, and runners. There are two shifts: 9:30 to 1:30 and 1:00 to 5:00pm. If interested, please signup at a meeting or email us at svbc411@gmail.com.

Spring Brewfest
Spring Brewfest
Help with the Friends of Washington Crossing Historic Park Spring Brew fest. Duties available would be pourers and potty monitors. Tentative time is 11:45am to 4:30 pm. Location is the upper park (River and Aquetong Roads). If interested, let us know thru a meeting or email us at svbc411@gmail.com. In past years, we helped with potty monitoring during the event (two shifts), cleanup at the end, and pouring beer for the entire event.

Golf for Kids Sake
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County would like our help with their annual golf event. The location is Doylestown Country Club. The tentative time is 8:00am to 2:00pm. We will have a general meeting tonight at 6:45pm at the Churchville Nature Center (CNC) 501 Churchville Lane, Churchville PA. We will discuss upcoming events. We follow CNC and Bucks County rules as far as wearing a face mask and social distancing.

Chefs of GEMMA
GEMMA Services has requested our help with their annual Chefs of GEMMA event. The event will be held at the Green Valley Country Club, 201 West Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444. In the past, duties were helping with the wine cork pulling fund raising booth. If interested in this unusual activity, please signup at a meeting or email us at svbc411@gmail.com. Tentative time is 5:30pm to about 9:00pm. Possibly we will carpool from the Churchville Nature Center.

Five Mile Woods
Five Mile Woods

The Friends of Five Mile Woods monthly workdays will be the second Saturday of each month from March to November. The event is open to the public. Meet at 9:00am at the park headquarters located on Big Oak Road in Lower Makefield Township. Masks and social distance may be required. As in the past, participants will work on the trails, pick up trash and do general maintenance. This is a weather dependent event and the event will be cancelled if the weather is bad.

This month’s dinner meeting will be at Mt Fuji Hibachi & Asian Bistro, 43 Summit Square Center, Langhorne PA 19047 (shopping center at Rt 413 and the Newtown Bypass). The time will be 7:00pm. Due to the lack of restaurant participation, Pearl S. Buck International has cancelled this year’s Taste of the World event.

Adopt-a-Highway CANCELLED
This event has been postponed to a later date to be determined. When we reschedule, this is what we do: Our group has been doing Adopt-A-Highway for over 20 years. We cleanup Woodbourne Rd from the Woodbourne train station to Ellis Rd. We meet and disperse sharply at 8:00am at the tennis court parking lot in Core Creek Park which is opposite Maple Point Middle School on Woodbourne Rd. Washington Crossing Historic Park will hold their annual Wheat and Sheep Day event at the Thompson-Neely House. We have enough volunteers for this event. Time is 9:30am to 4:00pm.
